My 2 favorite guys (that would be my husband and my son) went dirt bike riding today so I had some much needed time to myself and what else would I do but hit the Thrift Shop......right?
Its a small haul but that's ok, I am so tickled with what I found
When we were kids, my mother had one of these on our hutch in the kitchen and she would read the promises to us everyday while we ate our breakfast. I am so happy to have found this little gem filled with God's promises.
This adorable old cake decorating book absolutely grabbed my attention. I have been thinking about taking the classes at Joann Fabrics. It looks like fun.
This is marked Homer Laughlin so I thought it was a good deal at $1.99. I can always find a little spot to display it.
I adore "little books" and this one is a Hymn book for Sunday School. Oh its just perfect for my little collection of happiness.
Not a great picture but if you look closely, you can see penciled notes written by some dear soul in The Lord.
Speaking of "souls" I have always considered myself an "Old Soul" and I absolutely enjoy, admire and delight in the old hymns. We sang them every Sunday in the church I grew up in and I was always fascinated by the words. I wondered what inspired the writer of the hymn and I would ask my mom to take me to the library to look up their origin.
Hmmmm that makes me sound old but we didn't have computers and internet when I grew up in the 70's.
Ahhhhh the simplicity of it all. I miss that too.
The Old Rugged Cross.......it made the difference for me, thank you Jesus!
Have a lovely week my friends,
